What have you done out of these? Any tips? I'd love to hear about your experiences!

Tips that I've learnt so far:

Don't pack watermelon for a hiking day trip! - I kept saying that I'd eat it when I got to the top -  4 hours later + hot weather + a leaking tuba-wear box = a sticky, smelly backpack and gone off watermelon pieces!

Go to the toilet whenever you pass one! You don't know how far the next available loo is. Peeing on Mount Snowdon when people are passing is embarrassing...( being the watch out is even worse!)

Always pack light and chuck away the old clothes you brought with you (if you did) to make room in your rucksack for goodies you find along your adventures!
